A yummy recipe from Retro Housewife
Well I'm finally not sick anymore but I was in a car accident over the weekend and I'm in a lot of pain. I don't know what is wrong yet but got x-rays and scans at the chiropractor and will know soon. Since I'm hurting I thought I would share a recipe with you guys.
This recipe is very much like the Walnut Brownies from Applebee's only with real ingredients and better! I'm allergic to nuts so I left them out but if you like them feel free to add some. (Sorry about the lack of pictures)
Blondies with Maple Butter Sauce
Ingredients:
Blondie
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
1/3 cup butter (melted)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Maple Butter Sauce
3/4 cup real maple syrup
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup whole milk (or heavy cream)
Directions:
Blondie
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour. Set aside.
Mix brown sugar to melted butter. Then add egg and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Add flour mixture, a little at a time, until mixed well. If using white chocolate chips, add now.
Spread out dough in a 9-inch pan.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Toothpick should come out clean.
Serve while warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and the maple butter sauce.
Maple Butter Sauce
In small sauce pan melt butter, add maple syrup and cook over low heat until totally melted. Add brown sugar and milk, heat until sugar dissolves.
