Just taking the kids out to the backyard to see a humungous winter moon or letting them stay up a bit later so they can appreciate the stars would be one small but perhaps momentous example. <BR/> Having taught kids in elementary school for over 25 years I have to say this about education: a lot is happening in our world in eco- awareness &amp; many teachers, me included would not feel good about providing a curriculum without covering important topics: ie. pollution, attempts at recycling, making art with recyclable material or just looking at a small view in nature &amp; replicating it in an art project.
