Farmers Market Report - June 11

Ninety degree weather means I've been a market slacker this past week.

Great intentions of checking out Wednesday markets or even my Thursday evening stops at the farm stand fell by the wayside as I raced to beat the heat and the resulting headaches.

Today, though, I'm hoping to be off to check out a new market and can't wait to see what's out there.

What's growing in your neighborhood? Post your comments below, or plug into our linky!

Sadly, there wasn't much at our SE Wisconsin Farmer's Market =( I saw spinach, onions, radishes and plants. I am happy to report, however, there were more meats!! I also saw 2-3 vegan/real food baked goods stands and a cheese stand. The cold weather here has really put a cramp in our growing style this year!! The strawberry hotline says it will be at least 3 more weeks! I am trying not to get depressed. I am overjoyed we have a farmer's market w/variety and we now have a local food co-op grocery store too! I wonder if anyone else's markets have been light due to the weather...

I cannot find the Linky so here's a link to mine - it's on my FB page. I have CSA and farmers' market on same day and I hit both bc my CSA only offers 1 or 2 fruits. I load up on fruits at the farmers' market. Despite our cold cold weather, farmers hereabout seem to be growing things. I even picked up some tomatoes and peppers! See the link for more details on everything else. :)

No linky there yet. I found the last of the asparagus, and heirloom tomato plant, and more...

All - sorry about the delays in the linky - apparently something went haywire when I put the code in!
